Kenya is the home of the Africa Safari. Safari is a swahili word meaning, 'to journey, travel with adventure'. Kenya developed the African safari concept and widely made it known to the world. Kenya has many diverse attractions in its numerous and established parks. Countless films and documentaries have been filmed in Kenya's picturesque regions and nether wildernesses. The endless plains of rolling yellow grasslands clad by determined flat-topped acacia bushes in the legendary Masai Mara, the prolific bird life and well established lodges and camps, the Maasai and Swahili people of Kenya are highlight attractions to visit Kenya. Beause Kenya is a preferred tourist destination in Africa, Depth of Africa Safaris Ltd suggests to the traveler, the less crowded areas and implements rewarding itineraries for a memorable Africa wildlife safari.
Tanzania on the other hand is reviewed as one of the most beautiful countries in Tourist East Africa from the Serengeti plains with their annual mass migrations to towering, jungle-clad mountains, amazing craters teeming with wildlife, and indeed, its paradise island archipelagos. Tanzania is reputed as home to Africa’s largest parks (Selous & Serengeti), densest animal populations (Ngorongoro) and most famous wildlife spectacles (Serengeti's annual migration). Ever heard of tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara? Tanzania is host to Africa's largest mountain, The Kilimanjaro.
Tanzania has good natured people too. You can expect 'kingly' treatment from them unless by bad luck, you encounter useless folks (found everywhere in the world) who have little knowledge of the definition of African hospitality. Except for Lamu in Kenya (an untouched paradise of the glory of a foregone era), Tanzania, in our opinion, arguably leads in idyllic beach holidays in the turquoise islands strung out of the Indian Ocean (Zanzibar & Mafia Islands).
In essence, a Kenya-Tanzania Combined Safari attempts to map the best attractions of both countries on one axis, and are thus enriched with well-thought itinerary ideas, variety, charm and most desirable of them. A combined safari is the answer to a grand African holiday in a class of its own. The variations are between Kenya's Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli, Samburu (further on the northern frontier) and Mount Kenya regions. while on Tanzania's side, there is the Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Manyara, Tarangire on the 'northern circuit', also Selous, Ruaha, Mikumi on the 'southern circuit'.
Depth of Africa Safaris organizes Kenya Tanzania Combined Safaris in an exciting itinerary connecting major parks and towns expertly without giving much time to be wasted on extended strenuous driving.
Our guides believe that less fatigue keeps you in the right holiday mood, ever alert to get concerned about key stops to take a photograph of the sheer African wilderness, the glorious embers of fading sunset, the bird perched on top of old baobab, or whatever other thing that captures your imagination.
Early morning departures after breakfast will help in viewing lots of morning birds and animals while allowing sufficient stops for photos and yet arriving in good time for lunch at next destination ( or a preferred non-hurried picnic lunch & extended game drives in the parks).
Arusha- 2.5 hrs - Tarangire- 3.5 hrs - Ngorongoro- 3 hrs - Serengeti- 4hrs - Lake Manyara - 2.5hrs - Arusha (see reverse of above below)
When these are combined with a fact sheet to help analyze the diversity, attractions and activities in the parks, the result is a stress-free, exciting and memorable Africa safari holiday (Kenya Tanzania Combined Safari)
Shortest of all those sampled here. Amboseli is a great choice for a Kenya Tanzania Combined Safari because of proximity to Tanzania border. Starting from Nairobi and residing in modest lodges and camps, this is an ideal photographic safari (Amboseli and Ngorongoro are the most photogenic parks of the Kenya, Tanzania combined).
